Below The Fold comes from print industry, and refers to newspapers. On a website, it refers to information below what can be seen on a page, and so involves the user having to scroll down. Having important information, text, or images below the fold is seen as a bad thing.

Bing

Bing is Microsoft’s Search Engine, and offers something a bit different from the services provided by Google and Yahoo, and is gaining in popularity. Normally provides less traffic than Yahoo, depending on the Keyword.

Black Hat SEO refers to the unscrupulous tactics employed by some SEO companies and consultants. These methods are frowned upon by the Search Engines and lead to the website being banned from the Search Engines.

This figure is can be measured in Google Analytics, and is can be an indication of how well your website is performing. A bounce rate of up around 40-60% is the norm, depending on the sort of website.

Bricks and Mortar Store refers to an physical shop, as opposed to an online shop. Some aspects of marketing are the same online as offline, so what works in your shop, might also be appropriate for your ecommerce site.

Brochure Site

A Brochure Site is another way of describing a site that informs rather than sells. The aim of your site might be to provide information, such as for tourism or leisure, or for data capture, rather than selling. An alternative to an ecommerce site
